Purchasing & Quality / Purchasing guide
A useful quality report identifies the part, its revision and the requirement in question, then provides clear evidence of the concern. Photographs are valuable when they show both location and detail. Separate what you observed from what you think caused it so the supplier can investigate without being steered by an unsupported conclusion.

Identify the affected items
Record the part and batch references, quantity affected and the stage at which the issue was found. Keep suspect items identified and preserve relevant packing or receiving information where useful. State whether the observation concerns appearance, dimensions, fit or another defined requirement.
Use a consistent photo sequence
Take an overall view to locate the feature, a closer view to show it and a suitable scale or reference where relevant. Avoid filters that alter the appearance. For a dimensional concern, record the instrument, measurement location and setup rather than relying on a photograph of a number alone.
Ask for a documented disposition
Share the governing drawing note or acceptance criterion and request review of the specific evidence. Keep proposed rework, replacement or acceptance decisions tied to the identified items. Do not apply a suggested remedy to other parts without confirming that the same conditions and approval apply.
